GDCA hosted a reception in honour of Muhibur Rahman Khan (Zaitun Khan). Mr Khan was a key figure in establishing Shoropolli High School and in promoting the concept of secondary education in Dawrai at a time when schools were scarce in a newly formed state of Bangladesh.
There was a large turn out of his ex-students and fellow members of the village, who he had not seen in a long time. He was presented with a wood and crystal plaque and a bouquet of flowers by the GDCA on behalf of the Dawrai community in recognition for his services to the greater cause in the area.
